Designed by internationally acclaimed artist Ernst Gruler for Studio A Home by Global Views, the Spring Top Sound Sculpture is an exceptional example of functional sculpture, blending industrial materials with refined contemporary design.
Inspired by Gruler’s original handcrafted sound sculptures, this striking piece is fabricated from hand-finished natural iron with a suspended cylindrical bell housed within a sculptural architectural frame. The bell is intended to be gently rung, creating a rich, resonant tone while inviting interaction and contemplation. As with Gruler’s original works, the sculpture references repurposed industrial forms, transforming them into an elegant work of functional art.
The hand-applied finish intentionally highlights the character of the iron, resulting in subtle tonal variation and texture that make each example unique.
