Original 1808 French copperplate engraving titled "Bateau de Plaisance à Quanton" (Plate No. 25) by Chrétien-Louis-Joseph de Guignes, published in Paris for "Voyages à Pékin, Manille et l'Île de France."
This historical Chinoiserie piece depicts a Qing Dynasty pleasure boat on the Pearl River in Canton (Guangzhou), China. Inscribed "Deguignes fecit" (drawn by De Guignes) and "Deseve direx" (engraved under Jacques-Eustache de Sève).
Double-matted and framed in a rich dark wood frame with mahogany tones measuring 21" x 18". Excellent visual presentation ready to hang in a traditional, antique, or gallery setting.
Condition: Very good antique condition with light, natural age-appropriate toning on authentic 19th-century laid paper. Frame and matting are clean and secure.
