Late 20th Century Hand-Colored Engraving After Heywood Hardy
Hand-printed from J.D. Piatt's original etched plate after Heywood Hardy's celebrated 1904 sporting painting. Individually hand-colored in watercolor and professionally custom framed by W. King Ambler for Village Français.
A beautifully presented oversized hand-colored engraving depicting two hunting hounds after the celebrated English sporting artist Heywood Hardy (1842–1933).
This decorative print was produced from the original etched plate by J.D. Piatt, after Hardy's 1904 painting originally published by Thomas Agnew & Sons of London. The engraving has been individually hand-colored in watercolor and professionally framed by Village Français, LLC, with the original W. King Ambler gallery label preserved on the reverse.
The richly stained walnut frame with gilt beaded liner complements the warm sporting palette beautifully, making this an ideal statement piece for an equestrian home, library, study, country house, hunting lodge, or traditional interior.
The expressive portrayal of the two English hunting dogs captures the quiet dignity and realism for which Heywood Hardy's sporting scenes remain admired.
Professionally framed under glass and ready to hang.
Condition: Very good vintage condition.
Minor age-appropriate wear to the frame consistent with display. Print presents beautifully behind glass. Original gallery label remains on reverse.
Dimensions: Overall: 39.5 W × 1 D × 35.25 H inches
