A powerful original bronze sculpture by renowned Mexican artist Humberto Peraza Ojeda (1925–2016), one of the twentieth century’s most celebrated sculptors of bullfighting subjects. This expressive composition captures the dramatic encounter between matador and bull, conveying the grace, precision, and tension of the corrida through Peraza’s bold sculptural style.
The bronze exhibits the artist’s characteristic textured modeling and dynamic movement, with the matador standing calmly as the charging bull twists beside him. Every angle reveals a different perspective, emphasizing the energy and balance that distinguish Peraza’s work.
The sculpture retains its original polished black marble presentation base with the engraved artist’s plaque reading “Humberto Peraza O. – Escultor.” The bronze bears an incised mark on the base consistent with the artist’s studio or inventory numbering.
Humberto Peraza’s sculptures are held in important public and private collections throughout Mexico and internationally. His work is particularly admired for its interpretations of equestrian, wildlife, and bullfighting themes, making his bronzes highly sought after by collectors of Latin American and Mexican modern art.
A distinguished and visually striking work that would make an exceptional addition to a serious sculpture collection, refined interior, or gallery setting.
