'Route' is a series of objects inspired by the idea of movement as a continuous, evolving process. In this body of work, form is not conceived as a final goal, but as a route — a state of becoming within the material itself. The artist is interested in the journey: how form develops and flows, how it unfolds in space, and how it carries the trace of its own transformation. Each object is handcrafted in cast aluminium, with the casting process becoming an essential part of the narrative. The material is not merely shaped; it is engaged in a dialogue. Like a riverbed, a root, or a branching system, the forms suggest a sense of dynamism — never static, always seeming to extend beyond their visible boundaries. Rather than imitating nature literally, these works follow its rhythms. They flow, bend, and connect, forming a living, organic geometry shaped by both the inherent behavior of the material and the guiding hand of the artist. About the Artist Sofia Karnukaeva, a Barcelona-based artist and architect, observes and interprets the world around her through form and material, using an intuitive method of transformation. She explores how external conditions influence the emergence of new forms. In the shapes crafted by Sofia, one can perceive her endeavor to translate the abstract into the tangible and the intuitive into the sensory. Her tactile vessel-sculptures evoke bodily and zoomorphic forms, bearing a resemblance to nests, beehives, or caves.
