Designed by alberto meda and paolo rizzatto for luceplan, this matching pair of metropoli d20/27 flush mounts represents one of the most celebrated achievements of italian industrial lighting from the early 1990s.
each fixture combines a satin die-cast aluminium body with a thick prismatic pressed glass diffuser, creating soft, evenly diffused illumination while maintaining a refined architectural appearance. Suitable for both wall and ceiling installation, the design is distinguished by its ingenious hinged opening mechanism, inspired by the construction of a watch case, allowing quick bulb replacement and simplified maintenance.
the metropoli collection received the prestigious compasso d'oro adi award in 1994, recognising its outstanding combination of engineering, innovation and timeless aesthetics.
