Saint … Read more Description: Neapolitan sculpture depicting "Saint Michael the Archangel," featuring a terracotta head with crystal eyes and polychrome wooden limbs. Saint Michael is depicted in the moment he is trampling the dragon—that is, the moment he defeats evil—a typical motif of the Neapolitan school. The dragon, also made of polychrome wood, rests on a gilded wooden base. Condition: Excellent. Provenance: Naples, 20th century. Dimensions: 18 x 10 x 50 cm (H).
