An exceptionally scarce and historically significant design, with only two documented examples known to exist. This remarkable sideboard showcases Tapiovaara's early vision of combining traditional Finnish craftsmanship with modernist simplicity. Executed in solid pine, the cabinet has developed a beautiful, warm patina that highlights the natural character of the timber. The façade is defined by two original dark blue-green vinyl sliding doors, creating a striking contrast with the honey-toned pine, while a bank of six drawers features elegantly sculpted semi-blind finger pulls that emphasize the clean, understated design. Characteristic construction details; including the finely executed joinery, exposed finger joints and the distinctive turned legs, are unmistakably Tapiovaara, reflecting the honest craftsmanship and functional elegance for which his work is celebrated. The sideboard remains in original condition, preserving its authentic surface, rich patina and original materials.
