The piece features a … Read more Description: Antique French Empire console table dating from the Consulate period in the early 19th century. The piece features a rigid rectangular frame entirely clad in mahogany veneer, with a poplar interior and a black Belgian marble top. The front is characterized by two pilasters topped with gilded sphinx heads. The feet of the pilasters—which are also gilded—rest on a rectangular base that serves as a connecting element. The marble top is contemporary with the console. Condition: Excellent condition. Provenance: France, early 19th century. Dimensions: 75 x 40 x 83 cm (H). Documentation: Certificate of Authenticity.
