Description
An authentic 1837 engraved print after William Hogarth’s Charity in the Cellar, engraved by T. Trotter and published in London by Baldwin & Cradock, Paternoster Row, as indicated in the original publication line beneath the title.
This finely executed line engraving retains excellent detail and is presented in an elegant carved walnut Victorian frame with a wide period mat. The combination of an early Victorian engraving and later 19th-century carved frame creates a timeless presentation suitable for a library, study, English Country, or traditional interior.
The engraving bears the original printed credits:
