An elegant and historically significant antique French crystal figurine, attributed to the prestigious Baccarat crystal works. This exquisite piece depicts a young Napoleon II (often referred to historically as the King of Rome or L'Aiglon).
The sculpture showcases a masterful contrast of glassmaking techniques typical of fine 19th and early 20th-century French production. The finely detailed bust of the young prince is rendered in softly frosted (acid-etched) satin crystal, which sits elegantly atop a brilliant, clear crystal pedestal. The pedestal rests on a substantial, fluted, and scalloped circular base that captures and refracts the light beautifully.
Please note: As is standard with Baccarat production prior to 1936, this piece is unsigned. Early pieces were originally marked with paper labels that were inevitably washed away over time.
