A fine serving dish or tray with integrated side handles (plat à oreilles), crafted from fine earthenware (faïence) and featuring an elegant Art Nouveau aesthetic. The dish is signed on the back with the mark of the French manufacturer Creil et Montereau (located in Montereau-Fault-Yonne), one of the most important and historic centers of fine earthenware production in France. The decoration, entirely hand-crafted under the glaze, revolves around the iconic "Oeillet" (Carnation) pattern: the center features a medallion with stylized plant and floral motifs in shades of yellow ochre, earthy brown, and black, repeated symmetrically on the two side handles with scrolls and small geometric dots. The edge is elegantly finished with a double black and orange liseré trim. The entire surface of the plate reveals the typical appearance of period earthenware, with a fascinating and widespread craquelure in the glaze. The back bears the original factory mark, which features a carnation design, the model name, and the manufacturer's mark—details that certify its authenticity and correct historical classification.
