This bronze figure depicts Diana the Huntress standing beside a greyhound, cast in the late 20th century. She is modelled nude, hair drawn into a low bun, weight settled onto one leg in a relaxed contrapposto stance. Her raised hand grips a curved bow, while the lowered hand rests on the head of the greyhound at her side, its lean body cast with visible ribs and sinew and one forepaw lifted.
Both figures stand on a naturalistic rocky ground, textured to suggest broken earth, mounted on a plain rectangular plinth. The bronze carries a dark, even patina, with lighter wear to the raised surfaces of the shoulders, thighs and the dog's back where handling and light contact have thinned the finish over time.
Substantial in scale, the group reads well as a freestanding sculpture for an entrance, library or garden room.
