Dimensions: Height x Width x Depth 210 x 225 x 90 cm. For sale is a very magnificent Baroque hall cabinet from a known aristocratic residence of the Austrian monarchy. It is a so-called Maria Theresa cabinet, dating from mid-18th-century Austria. It features a softwood body that can be disassembled using wedge joints, a removable profiled cornice, and a beautiful base. The cabinet boasts slanted, stepped pilasters, a curved front with two doors, and is veneered in walnut. It is further inlaid with other precious woods such as plum, maple, and walnut burl in a field and strapwork pattern. Hand-polished with shellac, it retains its original box lock. This museum piece impresses with its particularly elaborate inlays/marquetry and the original lock and key. We are honored to be able to offer such a museum piece.
