For sale is a recently restored/renovated Empire four-drawer writing desk, circa 1810, crafted with exceptional splendor and practicality. The striking walnut veneer is a defining feature, extending across all four drawers and the writing section, complemented by exquisite Corythian columns and curved black feet. The writing section, with its five elegant drawers, is accessed by folding out the first drawer panel. The writing surface features stunning marquetry/inlays – see photos. The four drawers of the Empire writing desk open smoothly and can be locked with a key. The attractive brass fittings are also noteworthy. The interior of the desk is sanded and pleasantly fragrant.
