The composition centres on a stand of tall beech trees, their lush canopy catching brilliant sunlight against a sky of soft blue and drifting clouds. The tree trunks are rendered with warm, ochre-toned brushstrokes where the light strikes the bark, set against rich, shadowed foliage worked in layered greens.
