Stoneware lamp by Denis Avonts in La Borne
The lamp is characterized by a beautiful gradient of blue.
D. Avonts began his career as a welder and worked in several trades.
In 1973, he joined the Pierre Digan – Janet Stedman workshop (ceramicists), where he started as a calibrator before learning wheel throwing with Janet Stedman.
After the Digan workshop closed in 1979, he built his own wood-fired kiln and established himself as a potter in La Borne in 1981.
with his wife, Dominique Avonts, he primarily produces wood-fired stoneware, respecting the La Borne tradition while developing his own personal style.
