This very rare, generously sized table lamp was designed by henrik blomqvist and produced by stilarmatur tranås in sweden in the 1960s. The lamp is marked with the manufacturer’s sticker, ‘ab stilarmatur, tranås sweden’, on the bulb fitting.
the striking glass base was mouth-blown into a mold at pukebergs glassworks, one of sweden’s iconic glassmaking workshops. The glass has a distinct organic, ice-inspired texture with sculptural, ice-like protrusions. The lamp is finished with a circular brass gallery and bulb fitting. The cylindrical shade is a custom, new design in cream/beige pure raw silk.
the lamp is in very good condition, with a renewed shade. Currently wired for 220v european use with a standard e26/e27 bulb fitting.
