This walnut shelving unit with a desk-shelf was designed by poul cadovius and made by cado in the 1960s. Its simple form provides elegance as well as very practical display and storage space.
overall set size is h: 198 / w: 164 / d: 38 cm.
it features a spacious drop-down door cabinet, a bunch of open shelves, and a desk-shelf. If you lack space in your apartment, this set with a floating desk-shelf is an ideal solution for creating a home office space. A cabinet with drop-down doors will work well as a secretary, document organizer, or bar cabinet.
the set is fully modular. All elements are 80 cm wide and can be arranged as needed. Hung, lower, higher, and interchanged. Great carpentry and versatility have been key features of cadovius units. They are extremely well built and are still in perfect shape after 60 or more years of usage. it will last the next decades, still charming with its timeless design in your living room or office.
this set consists of:
- a desk-shelf 40 cm depth,
- a shelf 30 cm depth,
- 3 shelves 24 cm depth,
- a drop-door cabinet h: 42 / w: 80 / d: 40 cm,
- three wooden rails 148 cm long,
- black-painted metal hardware.
the wall unit has been renovated. Our team ensured all components fit together well. The wood has been sanded down and finished with a few layers of satin lacquer, very resemble to the original, to enhance the beauty of walnut grain. the engraving “made in denmark” located on the back of the shelves confirms the authenticity of the furniture’s origin. Overall, in fantastic vintage condition with absolutely minor signs of use.
we have many more cadovius shelves. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
