A striking, highly graphic vintage 1970s Korean lacquerware wall plaque panel from the renowned Minye Art studio. This geometric, sleek statement piece features a highly stylized, mid-century modern depiction of a traditional Korean Courtly Sword Dance (Geommu).
• Artistic Details: The dynamic dancer is meticulously constructed from vibrant, shimmering hand-cut pieces of iridescent mother-of-pearl/abalone shell inlay (najeon), accented by vivid teal, ruby, and violet hand-painted enamel overlays. Set against a high-gloss, deep piano-black lacquer ground (chilgi). The upper left corner features a traditional hanging paper lantern accented with the Hangul character Hoe (회).
• Authenticity & Provenance: Stamped on the reverse lower-left corner with the official Minye Art circular crest and a crisp white Made in Korea indicator. Features an integrated vintage brass keyhole mounting bracket at the top for immediate hanging.
• Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The high-gloss black lacquer surface retains an incredible mirror-like shine with no deep scratches or chipping. The mother-of-pearl inlay pieces are securely seated and retain brilliant, multi-color fire and reflectivity.
