a unique and rare cinema object from the german brand bauer: an original bauer kino-großdia-projektor / cinema advertising slide projector. Likely dating from the 1950s.
this type of projector was used in art house cinemas and movie theaters for projecting large slides, advertisements, intermission images, or announcements onto the screen. It is therefore not a standard film projector for moving films, but a professional large-slide installation from a cinema projection booth.
the projector has a beautiful industrial appearance with a heavy metal housing, original bauer nameplate, optical arms, lens holders, and an impressively large base. Due to its design, size, and weathered green/gray paint, it is a highly decorative object for an art house cinema, museum, studio, hospitality interior, shop fitting, or collector of cinema equipment.
