An elegant Hermès porcelain vide-poche, produced in France during the late twentieth century and exemplifying the timeless sophistication for which the celebrated Parisian maison is renowned. Beautifully combining practical function with refined decorative design, the piece reflects Hermès' longstanding tradition of producing exceptional luxury homewares.
Of square form with gently canted sides, the dish is decorated with an intricate equestrian-inspired design centred around a richly detailed carriage wheel enclosed within an ornamental border. Executed in a harmonious palette of soft grey-blue, turquoise, gold, and green, the composition draws upon the equestrian heritage that has remained at the heart of the Hermès identity since the company was founded in Paris in 1837 as a maker of fine harnesses and saddlery.
The fine porcelain body is enhanced by delicate gilt detailing, while the crisp white ground provides an elegant backdrop to the richly coloured decoration. The underside bears the Hermès-Paris mark, confirming its authenticity and the exceptional quality associated with one of the world's foremost luxury houses.
