"Among the Vines" is a two-part original painting by the artist Elena Efa, created in 2026. The diptych consists of two framed acrylic paintings on stretcher bars, each measuring 30 × 40 cm, and combines two different perspectives on the same experience: consciously spending time among the vineyards.

The inspiration for the works arose during extended periods spent among the vines. Sitting on a picnic blanket, painting and observing the landscape, the artist explored how human perception changes when time momentarily loses its meaning and the gaze begins to focus on the immediate surroundings.

The first painting brings the viewer close to the vine. Grapes, leaves, and the curved line of the vine define the composition. The second work opens up a view of the landscape: A path leads between the vines into the vastness of the vineyard and to the hills on the horizon.

As a diptych, a deliberate interplay of near and far, detail and landscape, observation and expansiveness is created. The shared color palette and free brushstrokes connect both works, while the different perspectives preserve the individuality of each painting.

Stylistically, the work can be categorized as contemporary landscape painting with Impressionist influences. The focus is not on the faithful reproduction of a specific vineyard, but rather on the subjective perception of light, color, and atmosphere.

The experience that gave rise to "Between the Vines" later evolved beyond painting. The desire to give others the opportunity to experience this special way of lingering, observing, and artistically perceiving led to the idea for the "Painting in the Vineyard" workshop. Thus, the diptych simultaneously documents the origin of an artistic concept that translates the artist's personal experience into a shared space.
