The chairs are distinguished by their exceptionally slender proportions, finely tapered legs and tall, open backrests. A broad, gently sculpted upper rail gives the design a strong visual identity while preserving its light and understated appearance. The warm-toned wooden frames are paired with naturally woven seats arranged in a distinctive geometric pattern. The contrast between the finely shaped timber and the tactile handwoven surface reflects a refined tradition of italian furniture making, in which functional objects were treated with careful attention to proportion, material and construction. Seen together, the chairs create a particularly balanced and architectural composition. They may be used as dining chairs, but would also work beautifully as occasional chairs beside a desk, in a bedroom or as sculptural accents in a contemporary interior. Both chairs retain their original impressed manufacturer’s mark: g.b. Marangoni – mobili–sedie presented in authentic vintage condition. The wooden frames show minor marks, tonal variations and a naturally developed patina consistent with age and use. The woven seats retain an attractive and coherent appearance from above, while some wear and small areas of loss are visible to the weaving underneath. The chairs remain stable and usable.
