Spanish / Mudejar taste, with applied eight-point star and chevron ornament
and hand-forged iron hardware throughout.

77" long x 31" high x 22" deep.

Very heavy dense hardwood - a genuine two-person lift.

Hand-tool-worked surfaces throughout; you can see the adze and scrub-plane
texture inside and out.

Hand-forged shaped hasp, riveted lock plate, and spade-finial strap hinges.

Applied eight-point star and chevron ornament in the Mudejar manner.

Interior till (the small lidded compartment inside).

Acquired from a Michigan estate - a well-traveled couple; no documentation
survives.

HONEST CONDITION: an old crack in the lid, some losses to the end molding,
evidence of old hardware changes (a couple of later plain hinges and fasteners
at the bottom corners), heavy later varnish, and some modern paint overspray
from storage. It presents beautifully and is structurally sound. Please study
all photos.

ON AGE: I had this researched thoroughly. The best read is late 19th to mid
20th century - a traditional-method workshop piece rather than the Baroque
period the style evokes. I am selling it as a decorative antique, not as a
documented period piece, and I would rather tell you that up front. I was required to select a period, so I gave it my best estimate. Having an antique dealer or appraiser look at it would be the next step to hone in on period.

Local pickup in West Michigan or buyer-arranged freight; this piece is too large for parcel carriers.

Blanket-wrap furniture carriers (uShip, Plycon and similar) move pieces like
this routinely. As a rough guide, expect somewhere around $250-400 regional,
$400-600 to the East Coast or South, and $600-900 to the West Coast. I have
not crated it and would recommend blanket-wrap over crated LTL freight given
the existing lid crack.

I will have the piece ready, help load it, and provide any measurements or
photos your carrier asks for. Bring two strong people and a truck if you are
