The metal lid top lifts up to place items inside. Unique hinges means all you need to do to release items into a laundry basket below is pull forward the bottom of the hamper (away from the wall). This unique and versatile decorating piece could also be used to store kitchen towels, cleaning clothes. toys, dress-up costumes, plastic or paper bags, or many other items.
Measures approximately 23 inches wide between mounting hinges (basket itself is 21 inches wide), 23.75 inches tall from top of mounting hinges to bottom of basket (basket is 22.75 inches tall), 5.25 inches deep. Weighs 5 pounds 5 ounces. While it has plenty of storage space, the shallow depth makes it perfect for tight narrow spaces like bathrooms, entryway, halls, laundry and wardrobes. It could also be mounted behind a door.
This piece was painted cream to match the wall in the 1960s estate where it had hung for the past six decades. It requires four screws (included) to mount it.
