A finely crafted antique oval trinket box, the wood body inlaid throughout with silver wire in a scrolling floral pattern, with rosette medallions to the corners and a central cartouche bearing a calligraphic or emblematic motif. Small domed metal studs mark the compass points of the lid. The interior is fitted with a brass hinge and lined in dark wood.
