A striking one-of-a-kind hand-built studio ceramic sculpture depicting a reclining female figure in an expressive modernist style. This substantial work is signed and dated '95 by the artist, though the signature has not yet been identified.
The sculpture features a beautifully mottled matte turquoise and verdigris glaze with natural earthy undertones that accentuate its sculptural form. Every angle presents a unique silhouette, making it an exceptional display piece for a console, bookshelf, pedestal, or coffee table.
The underside reveals traditional hollow hand-built construction with internal ceramic supports, demonstrating skilled craftsmanship and studio production rather than commercial mold-cast manufacture.
With its organic forms and timeless aesthetic, this sculpture complements Modern, Organic Modern, Wabi-Sabi, Contemporary, and Postmodern interiors.
A wonderful acquisition for collectors of studio ceramics, one-of-a-kind sculpture, or artisan pottery.
