Dallah were used to brew and serve "gahwa". A bitter spiced Arabic coffee which symbolizes Bedouin hospitality. Popular throughout the middle east - examples decorated with birds originate from Ottoman era Baghdadi regions. This piece is quite old. It was purchased at a street bazaar by the current owner in Bahrain during the early 1970's Hand-crafted from solid copper It is embellished with solid cast brass bird finials. The body is chased with intricate geometric patterns. Measures 7" wide (spout tip to handle edge) x 4.5" deep x 8..5" high.
In very good antique condition. Structurally sound with no dents, fissures, cracks, or issues of note. Retains all of its original bird finials - none are missing. The original patinated tarnished surface has been lightly cleans but not polished. See photos for details.
