A Royal Delft vase, hand-painted in the Netherlands and mounted as a table lamp, its body carrying a long-tailed bird … Read more A Royal Delft vase, hand-painted in the Netherlands and mounted as a table lamp, its body carrying a long-tailed bird among flowering branches in the blue-and-white chinoiserie manner that made Dutch Delftware famous. The vase was converted with no drilling or alteration to the ceramic, then finished with cut-brass fittings and a twisted navy cloth cord.

It has been newly wired and we'll fit the plug for whatever country you'll use it in at no charge. Listed height includes the shade.

The base is the work of De Porceleyne Fles — founded in 1653, the last of the more than thirty Delft potteries of the Dutch Golden Age still operating, and the only maker permitted the "Royal" predicate. Every piece is still painted by hand and marked so it can be dated: this one carries the factory's semicircular cipher, the painter's initials, and the year code confirming 1978. This piece has an attribution mark,
