An exceptional oil on canvas depicting a coastal landscape with small cabins and fishing boats characteristic of French Brittany, signed Ronald, an artist from the second half of the 20th century. He closely followed the work and style of the French master Georges Laporte, renowned for his "coastal expressionism" paintings, which depicted landscapes of Brittany and Connemara (Ireland). These works were characterized by coastal scenes, harbors, and picturesque architecture, such as these white stone cottages with gray roofs, employing a cool, atmospheric palette and strong contrasts of light. The houses are almost entirely devoid of detail; they are practically reduced to simple geometric forms: cubes for the structures and triangles for the roofs.

His use of the palette knife and thick impasto is particularly noteworthy, giving the terrain and building facades a rough, physical, and almost three-dimensional texture or surface that evokes the harshness of the rocks, the wind, and the wild nature of the coast.
