You recognize the shape, and your mind instantly recalls the scent and texture.

The planter is intentionally just an allusion. It references a classical urn, but the softness lets your eye finish the form rather than having every detail spelled out.

The green is intentional. Summer is green. Everywhere you look there are layers of it, and I wanted that feeling to surround the rosemary rather than compete with it.

While the urn hints at a traditional garden form, the painting itself is very contemporary. Softness that gives the piece a lighter, more modern feel while keeping the subject simple and familiar botanical

This is the kind of painting that feels at home in a kitchen, garden room, lake house, or summer cottage—any place where bringing a little of the garden indoors just feels natural.
