An authentic 1963 Lane Furniture “Rhythm” Collection lamp table, Style No. 997-06, produced in Altavista, Virginia. The stamped serial number, 364121, dates the table to December 14, 1963 when read according to Lane’s reverse serial-number convention. Lane’s period catalog identifies Style 997-06 as the square Rhythm lamp table.
The generously scaled square top showcases richly figured walnut veneer framed by a subtly contrasting border. A recessed dark reveal creates the appearance of a floating top above the sculptural base. Below, softly curved legs flow into the apron with the clean, continuous profile characteristic of Lane’s Rhythm Collection. Lane’s original collection literature describes walnut heartwood and coordinating walnut veneers over solid pecan structural elements.
Elegant but highly functional, the table works beautifully as a large end table, side table, lamp table, bedside table, nightstand, accent table, cocktail table, or compact square coffee table. Its restrained geometry, warm American walnut grain, and fluid leg-to-apron transitions pair naturally with mid-century modern, Scandinavian modern, Danish modern, organic modern, minimalist, and contemporary interiors.

The walnut top presents attractively with an even color and light surface wear. The pecan base and legs show scattered scratches, small nicks, finish loss, and several light paint or scuff marks, most noticeably along the apron and lower legs. The recessed space beneath the top is an intentional floating-top design detail, not separation. Structurally sturdy and ready for use. Please review the detailed photographs. less
