This 1960s set of six Young Manufacturing dining chairs carries the maker's signature tall, tapering back design. Each walnut frame narrows as it rises, with slender vertical slats set inside the tapered surround, creating a ladder back reinterpreted through a clean mid century lens. The set includes five armless side chairs and one captain's chair with sweeping arms, and the repeated vertical lines give the group a strong, unified rhythm around a table.
These are chairs built for long dinners. The high backs offer real support, the angled rear legs and stretcher construction keep each frame solid, and the captain's chair gives the head of the table a natural anchor. The narrow profiles tuck in close, so even with six chairs the table stays approachable. The set retains its original Young Manufacturing tag from Norwood, North Carolina. Marked.
