The hood is black lacquered with brass edges. The true eye-catcher is the amethyst stone in the center, held by brass armature. Amethyst is said to clear the mind and create calmness. It would also help with mental processing and organizing thoughts. Besides all this, it also has a beautiful deep purple color and adds very nicely to the decorative appearance of this luxurious lamp.
