A charming and genuinely period 18th-century American Queen Anne drop-leaf table, New England, circa 1760–1790. This is a small, refined example — the kind that's far harder to find than the big dining drop-leaves — with beautifully scalloped, shaped drop leaves, a molded top edge, and slender turned, tapered legs ending in pad feet, two of which swing out to carry the leaves.
Executed in warm, honestly-aged cherry with wonderful color and an old surface, over pine secondary wood. The construction is exactly right for the period and is documented in the photos: hand-cut dovetails, pinned mortise-and-tenon joinery, hand-planed under-surfaces, and the scribe/layout marks of an 18th-century cabinetmaker. A real piece of early American furniture, not a revival copy.
At just 13" wide closed, it tucks flat against a wall or behind a sofa; opened to 35.5" it becomes a generous little table. At 26" high it works beautifully as a side, sofa, lamp, or occasional table, or a diminutive breakfast table.
