What sets these apart from the ordinary ladder-back is the fully hand-woven rush back panel: each back is woven in a bold mitered chevron/diamond pattern that echoes the woven seat below, so the chair reads as a piece of craft from both the front and the back. The rush work is dense, even, and beautifully done.

The frames are solid oak in a pale bleached/stripped finish — that soft, sun-washed tone that works so well with the natural rush and reads current in a way most brown antiques don't. Turned baluster front legs, chamfered block joints with carved rosette detail, bun feet, and a substantial box stretcher low to the floor. These are very sturdy chairs, built to be sat in — the joinery is tight and the frames are solid.

Included: tie-on linen seat cushions in a neutral beige-and-white geometric print, which soften the rush and pull the whole look together.

Perfectly at home around a farmhouse table, a kitchen island, or a modern dining room that needs texture and warmth.
