Each base is a substantial sculpted horse head — ears pricked, mane flowing, muzzle finely modeled — carrying a superb weathered surface: deep rust-brown metal broken by drifts of pale, chalky old paint and mineral bloom, the kind of patina that only comes from years outdoors. No two square inches look alike.

The heads are mounted as lamps on slim uprights, rewired with twisted cloth-covered cord, and topped with new natural linen drum shades that keep the whole thing light and modern above all that rugged texture. Lit, they're wonderful — the warm glow plays off the rust and makes the sculpture read almost archaeological.

Best of all, these are a true facing pair — the heads mirror one another rather than being two of the same casting — so they work as a proper pair flanking a console, a sofa, a bed, or a mantel. Equestrian, rustic, industrial, and quietly grand all at once.

Tested and working — both lamps light beautifully (see photos).
