Anyone who’s lived in Bethesda, Chevy Chase, or Potomac, MD will recognize it. Rendered in expressive, bold brushstrokes with a vibrant palette of reds, pinks, blues, and warm earth tones, the composition evokes a sense of Americana and small-town history. The energetic paint application and loose, impressionistic style give the scene movement and atmosphere.

Matt Doszkocs (DOZ kotch) grew up in suburban Maryland, outside Washington D.C. During high school, he studied under award-winning artist and teacher Walter Bartman. Matt then went on to study painting and obtain an MFA from Boston University. His current work explores the landscape, and our place in it through narrative works that strike a balance between figuration and abstraction, utilizing various techniques that push the boundaries of oil paint. In addition to his fine art, Matt’s work has been featured on album covers for hip hop musicians such as MF Doom and Vordul Mega. He has also designed snowboard art for Morrow, K2 and 5150, and created work for a wide variety of commercial clients.
