Founded in 1607 under the reign of King Karl IX of Sweden, Skultuna is one of the world’s oldest brass foundries still in operation. For centuries, the company became synonymous with uncompromising craftsmanship, producing ecclesiastical objects, candlesticks, lighting, and decorative works for both royal and private interiors throughout Scandinavia. During the early to mid-20th century, Skultuna developed a distinct visual language where classical European influences merged with the emerging purity of Nordic modernism.

This lamp is a striking example of that transition.

Executed in solid brass with a beautifully aged patina, the design is centered around a sculptural fluted column rising from a monumental stepped circular base. The composition recalls the proportions of classical architecture while remaining unmistakably Scandinavian in its restraint and balance.
