Its well-worn character and painted decorations give the piece an incredible charm. Both the design and the painting on the chest are simple and rustic; a typical and charming example of folk art from the region. The chest is finished in a deep blue base color with striking floral panels. The sides, on the other hand, are finished in a wood-tone color with decorative motifs. The chest has been restored in the past, which means that the blue paint and date were touched up at that time. This was a common practice back then to keep the chest looking beautiful for generations. The practical interior layout includes three shelves, two of which were added later. Old, sporadic woodworm damage has been thoroughly inspected and treated as a preventive measure. 183 cm high, 130 cm wide, 53 cm deep. See less
