This is a beautiful and characterful piece … Read more An exceptional antique bridal chest dating from 1798, originating from Franconia, southern Germany. This is a beautiful and characterful piece of furniture, thanks in part to its highly decorative green-blue paintwork. The softly weathered paintwork features all manner of refined motifs, including a striking Baroque star in the center, which gives the piece an incredible and historic look. The chest shows a few old, functional repairs that bear witness to its long history; for example, the legs and the lock have been replaced in the past. On the inside, two practical shelves have been added for optimal ease of use. Old, sporadic signs of woodworm damage have, of course, been thoroughly inspected, checked, and treated preventively. 189 cm high, 125 cm wide, 58 cm deep. See less
