The central standing figure holds an ornate feather fan, while the seated figure carries a small bell, creating an elegant scene that reflects the social customs, dress, and daily life of the Indian subcontinent as understood by European artists in the early nineteenth century. The print was created by Swiss artist Karl Joseph Brodtmann (1787–1862) and published in Lindau in 1816 as part of the celebrated *Naturhistorische Bilder-Gallerie aus dem Thierreiche*.
