Paolina’s upper body is bare, while … Read more Description: An ancient Neoclassical alabaster sculpture depicting Paolina Buonaparte, dating from the 19th century. Paolina’s upper body is bare, while her lower body is draped in finely crafted fabric featuring deep, regular folds that follow the anatomical contours of her legs. The composition is arranged horizontally, with the figure’s weight distributed onto her left hip. Her left arm is bent and supports her head in a relaxed posture, while her right arm is extended along her body, with her hand resting on her thigh and clutching an apple. The triclinium is decorated with fringed drapery and rests on four pyramidal feet adorned with acanthus leaves. Condition: Excellent. Provenance: 19th-century France. Dimensions: 65 x 22 x 48 cm.
