In Roman … Read more Description: An antique Neoclassical sculpture in white statuary marble depicting Diana the Huntress/Artemis, dating from the 19th century. In Roman mythology, Diana is the goddess of the hunt and the night, identified with Artemis in Greek mythology. She is adorned with a tunic and a crescent-shaped halo. The goddess is depicted with her hair pulled back, wearing draped classical garments, and standing on a circular marble pedestal. Condition: Excellent. Provenance: 19th-century France.
