Arne Norell (1917 to 1971). An icon of Swedish design and a pioneer of post-war Scandinavian modernism, he founded Möbel AB Arne Norell in 1958, where he created lounge furniture renowned for its timeless comfort and unique construction. His style was distinguished by forgoing glue and screws in favor of innovatively combining raw wood, metal, and thick, natural leather using straps and buckles. Inspired by Danish minimalism, he designed the iconic Sirocco (safari) armchairs and the steel and leather Ari , which earned him the posthumous title of Furniture Masterpiece of the Year. Today, his original designs are still handcrafted in Sweden and are among the most sought-after items in the vintage furniture market
