About the Artist
Marguerite de Lottis was an Italian painter born in Naples who worked during the early twentieth century. Although relatively little biographical information survives today, her documented exhibition history confirms that she was an active professional artist whose work was recognized in both Italy and France.

She exhibited at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome in 1928, 1929, and 1936, and later participated in both the prestigious Salon des Indépendants and the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris during 1933, 1934, and 1939. These important exhibitions were among Europe's leading venues for contemporary artists and reflected professional recognition of her work.

Marguerite de Lottis is best known for expressive portraits and figure paintings that combine confident brushwork with refined color harmonies, reflecting the influence of Italian Impressionism and Post-Impressionism.
