Upholstered in supple leather, the … Read more A 1970s Italian two-seat leather sofa designed by Redwall for Borbonese & Rossi di Albizzate. Upholstered in supple leather, the sofa’s silhouette is defined by softly curved arms and a gently arched back, forming an enveloping shape that feels both grounded and inviting.

The seat features Borbonese’s iconic Occhio di Pernice (“Eye of Partridge”) pattern, a micro-spotted motif developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s that became a signature of the house. Low-slung and modestly scaled, the sofa retains its original Borbonese plaque and is stamped with patent number 90456.

An expressive example of Borbonese’s experimentation with pattern and form during the height of Italian postmodern luxury design.

Condition: This sofa is in great vintage condition overall. The leather shows minor surface scuffs consistent with age and use, which remain visible in areas and contribute to its character. Scratches have been professionally filled, and the leather has been carefully conditioned and sealed with a clear coat by our team of restorationists, preserving the original intent and finish of the piece. Structurally sound and well maintained.
