Down the … Read more A sculptural mid-century table lamp in a tall, capsule-form ceramic body finished in a warm, pebbly cream glaze. Down the front, three vertical arched windows are set with clusters of fused glass mosaic — chunky "fritte colorate" glass in cobalt and turquoise blue, olive green, amber, and red — a hand-fused technique associated with the Italian workshops (Bitossi, Alvino Bagni) that supplied Raymor of New York during the 1960s. The lamp is cradled top and bottom by a turned dark walnut saddle mount, a detail typical of Raymor's American-market lamps from this period.
No maker's mark or paper label remains on the underside, so this piece is offered as attributed rather than signed — the glaze texture, glass technique, and wood detailing are all consistent with known Bitossi/Raymor production, but it cannot be confirmed to a specific maker without a mark. A wonderful, richly textured example of Italian glass-and-ceramic lamp design at its most tactile. See less
