With dramatic flame grain mahogany matched fully across the front of the piece; a fitted interior with various pull-out compartments and drawers, as well as hidden, secret compartments galore, and it features a lift-up & adjustable green baize covered writing surface; key lock drawers throughout (key included). This desk appears to have its original cast brass drawer pulls and key escutcheons. Although we cannot be certain, it may be that this desk was made in Holland for export to the English market. In any event, this is a stunning and opulent piece of furniture that, although over 200 years-old, can fit quite pleasingly into a modern lifestyle and design.
Dimensions: 44: wide x 22" deep x 44" high.
This piece was purchased on a buying trip in England in the year 2000 and was part of our showroom display in our high-end interior design furniture showroom. It never sold and has remained in our inventory. We have done no restoration work to this desk; it is in the original condition in which we purchased it. The desk is in excellent condition with all parts working. There is a small blemish to the top of green baize writing surface, evident in the photo. Other than that, any small scratches or imperfections are consistent with the age of this antique desk. See less
